  1. Diggstown should have been on the honorable mention, if not the list itself. Lucky you was a bit too much of a love story wrapped around a gambling story, but it still had a pretty great gambling vibe, it had a couple of rounders moments at the table, deserved a mention, i think.

  2. My name is Bill Kearney, I am an ex-casino gambling degenerate, and the author of a novel/screenplay titled, 'COMPED.' The story-line is based on true events that occurred during the High-Roller life I once lived in the early 80’s. Back then the casinos of Atlantic City lured in over thirty million people annually. Most came on less than a tank of gas, and gambled away their disposable income. What I've written is the untold horror story of one of the many who gambled away their life. Today there is casino gambling in just about every state, and as you read someone is becoming what I once was.

Many books have been written, movies made on this topic, but “COMPED,” is the only one that puts you in the shoes of a young successful entrepreneur, loving family man, and first time casino gambler as he moves quickly up the casino high roller ladder. He lives it up with those so-called casino freebies know as comps, and in less then a year he loses it all. After he exhaust all means to feed his casino gambling addiction, he sees no other choice than to double down with the casinos interest free credit. With his livelihood, and family gone, he makes his last buy-in.

I sent the link below of Jack Lemmon pitching "Days of Wine and Roses." It's by far the best movie ever made that addressed alcohol addiction. In his pitch Jack Lemmon never mentions anything about his own drinking problem, but he knew how important it was for others to see this story on film. I believe 'COMPED,' on film, and in the right hands will help others to fully understanding the ill-effects casinos bring to those who get in bed with them. 3. The Cooler was a great movie, reminds me of downtown Vegas. The poker movies and pool movies weren’t really gambling, more like con men. 21 was good, and it was based on a real story. Same w Mahoney.
